  Measurement, Indices and Indicators for Sustainable Development and SDG I have learned about the importance of measurement, indices, and indicators in assessing progress toward sustainable development (SD). I now understand that an index is a tool used in academia and research to measure achievements across various aspects of life, especially in the context of sustainability. Examples of such indices include the Human Development Index, Ecological Footprint, Genuine Progress Indicator, and the Malaysian Shariah Index. The latter particularly stood out to me as it uses a scientific approach to evaluate the government's commitment to Islamic principles through its policies and programs. Additionally, I became familiar with four distinct types of indicators: context , input , process , and impact indicators.
